Welcome to the Wilderness Boat Owners' Club

Supporting trailboating, waterway restoration and retention

Wilderness boats are “trailboats”. They can be easily loaded onto a trailer and towed, (or “trailed”), along our UK or European road systems to launch at a new location, perhaps an isolated UK canal, a French waterway, or an Irish lough. You can choose a quiet backwater, where you will not be bothered with too many other boats, or join the hurly burly of a high profile boating event somewhere in Europe.

Our club, for owners of Wilderness boats, has been around for 35 years. We average 80 members, but we punch well above our weight when it comes to lobbying those who oversee our boats and the UK waterways.

Please explore our pages to find out more about what we do and what we have achieved. If you own, or have owned a Wilderness boat, and want to join our efforts to help our owners get more enjoyment from their boat, or help our our efforts to retain and restore the UK’s waterways, you can become a member. See our "join uspage.
